Providence Women’s College is managed by the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, a congregation recognized worldwide for the service it renders in the fields of education and social service. Inspired by the noble vision of our founder, Venerable Mother Veronica, our college is now in its seventh decade of serving a transformative role in the world through the education and empowerment of women.
In the true spirit of the Apostolic Carmel vision of a world of equal opportunities for all, the college upholds the tradition of the holistic growth of the individuals who seek education within its portals. While the vision of the college is rooted in the culture and diversity of our land, it also upholds a global outlook that evolves as it keeps pace with the changing world. Providence Women’s College, Calicut, is one of the largest higher education centers for women in the state of Kerala. It was established in 1952 by the Sisters of Apostolic Carmel, as a noble initiative to spread the message of empowerment through education among the women folk in the Malabar region. After the initial years of functioning in the premises of Providence High School, Calicut, the college shifted to its own building atop the picturesque Florican Hill. പഠിച്ച കോളേജിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അഭിമാനമുണ്ട്.എന്നെ ഞാനാക്കിയ പ്രൊവിഡൻസ് വിമൻസ് കോളേജിലെ എല്ലാ പെൺകുട്ടികൾക്കും നന്മയെക്കാൾ വലിയ നന്മ നേരുന്നു. അറിവ് വെളിച്ചമാണ് അക്ഷരം വെളിച്ചമാണ് എന്ന സത്യം തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ ഓരോ വിദ്യാർഥിനിക്കും സാധിക്കട്ടെ.
ശുദ്ധമലയാളത്തിൽ പ്രസംഗിച്ച പ്രിൻസിപ്പാളും വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും മനസ്സ് നിറച്ചു. മലയാളികളുള്ളിടത്തോളം മലയാളഭാഷ നിലനിൽക്കുമെന്ന് ബോധ്യപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ഇന്നേ ദിവസം ഈ കലാലയം സന്ദർശിക്കുവാനും 21-22 വർഷത്തെ കലാലയ മാഗസിൻ ഒച്ചപ്പാട് പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്യാനും കഴിഞ്ഞതിൽ ഉള്ള സന്തോഷം പങ്കുവെക്കുന്നു. വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനികളുടെ സർഗ്ഗവാസനകളെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കാൻ കാണിക്കുന്ന പുണ്ണ്യത്തെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
