Our NSS Volunteer Amrutha Krishna (II Psychology) got selected for the Pre-Republic Day Camp after a two day selection process held at Univ of Calicut.
The "One Day Workshop on Academic Writing & Reference Management in the Age of AI" was conducted with the aim of enhancing the academic writing and reference management skills of faculties, research scholars, and librarians. The workshop took place at Providence Women's College Central Library and was attended by 40 participants from various institutions. As part of the Research Forum of the Department of English, the progress presentation of 2 PhD scholars was held on 5 October 2023 at 3:30 PM in the III BA English classroom. Y.M. Minisha presented on the topic "Criminal Representation: An Analysis of Mediated Crimes in Indian Crime Films/Web Series". Sreekuttan S. presented on the topic "Relocating the Second Wave: Political Resistance and Ethno-Specificity in Contemporary Tamil Cinema". The session was attended by faculty, research scholars, and PG students who participated in a lively discussion.
Student Solar Ambassador workshop was jointly organised by Department of Physics, Providence Women's College and Energy Swaraj Foundation on 2/10/2023. About 60 students from various schools under Kozhikode district participated in the program. Training was given to assemble solar study lamps using solar energy kits. Awareness class was given about the possibilities of solar energy in daily life.
As a part of Gandhi Jayanthi observation, the Gandhian model of Swaraj and decentralised village economy was discussed . The Gandhian model is a sustainable solution to the environmental concerns of common property rights and community living
